The short answer

No. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PS4 version, no Xbox One version, and no PC version. Rockstar has not announced any of the three.

The PS5 Pro plays the PS5 version. It is the same platform.

What is officially confirmed

Rockstar’s own GTA VI site lists two platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two’s pre-order announcement from June 24, 2026 uses the same list, and Rockstar Support’s pre-order article sells the game for those two platforms and nothing else. That list has not changed since the game was announced in December 2023.

Why PS4 and Xbox One are out

Rockstar has not published a reason. The official record is simply the platform list, which has never included PS4 or Xbox One in any trailer, store listing or press release. Treat any specific hardware explanation you read elsewhere as the writer’s inference, not Rockstar’s statement.

The PC question

No PC version has been announced. Not for launch day and not for later.

History is the only guide Rockstar has given, and it is history, not a promise. GTA V reached PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 and did not reach PC until April 2015, about nineteen months later. Red Dead Redemption 2 went console first in October 2018 and reached PC in November 2019, just over a year later. If GTA VI follows the pattern, a PC version would arrive well after launch. Rockstar has said nothing either way.

If a PC announcement happens, it will land on Rockstar’s own channels first. That is the only place worth watching.

If you are on PS4 or Xbox One today

You have three real options: move to a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S before launch, wait to see whether a PC version is ever announced if you have a capable PC, or simply wait. There is no version coming to the console you have.

Pre-orders are per platform. If you buy a digital edition on one platform, no transfer to another platform has been announced.

Do this now

  1. If you are upgrading, pick your console and sort your storage before November. Our storage guide covers exactly how much space you need.

  3. If you are holding out for PC, follow Rockstar’s own channels and do not buy a console edition you do not want.
  4. Ignore any headline claiming a PC date. If Rockstar has not published it, it is not real.
